Myliza’s Story

On August 18th, 2021 a beautiful healthy baby girl named Myliza Lorelei Madison was born and welcomed by her sister M’Rylee (4 years old), her mother Charity, and father Glenn. They enjoyed every moment together home as a family, but after 4 months of age Myliza began to show signs of illness: frequent vomiting, irritability, and high fevers. After a couple trips to her primary care doctor, she was sent home with supportive treatments.

On December 30th at 9pm Myliza’s mother was urged by her grandmother to take her to hospital regardless of her primary care doctor’s assessment. Her grandmother was sitting in solitude speaking to the Lord when she was given a directive to get Myliza to the hospital immediately. That night at only 4 ½ months old Myliza was diagnosed with infant leukemia. The ER doctor claimed that Myliza was brought in for treatment in the nick of time.

In Myliza’s first year of life she has spent 100+ overnight stays in the hospital and countless hours in the outpatient treatment center for chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and additional procedures. Myliza remained in remission for 4 months until the doctor spotted concerning cells in her spine that changed the direction of treatment. Myliza is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant on October 26th, 2022 at 14 months old with her father as the donor.
